 World Whale Day 21st February

IFAW is calling for action on world whale day to save the critically endangered north atlantic right whale.
You will find a press release written by IFAW on the Dog Desk News website dogdesknews.co.uk It sets out the precarious situation this species is in, discusses some of the possible solutions which may pull it back from the edge of extinction & how you can help.
You will also find a player on dogdesknews.co.uk which allows you to watch IFAW's amazing film Sonic Seas free of charge, although if you would like to offer IFAW a small donation toward the work they do I know they would be very grateful.
Sonic Sea is an amazing production which looks at how our noisy, busy, polluted waters affect the whales that live in them. I would thoroughly recommend that you try to find the time to watch this fascinating film.
You will also find an on demand player where you can listen to Michelle chatting to IFAW's Patrick Ramage. They discuss the perilous situation the NARW has found itself in, they talk about ways we can help the NARW & much, much more besides.

Dog Desk Radio Special Event

Dog Desk Radio is delighted to invite you to listen to our first special event.
We have been on a mission to create our best practice for safeguarding the health of pets when we travel.
We ask vets for clinical advice when travelling for work, recreation or relocation. We discover how our pets can transmit disease to other dogs when returning from an overseas break & learn what we can do to prevent this risk.
We talk about dogs with an unknown or uncertain medical history being adopted into the UK from overseas. Our guest vets explain the dangers & risks & advise what can be done to ensure the best outcomes.
We chat to an animal rescue charity who works in Cyprus & Romania rescuing dogs. They talk us through their practices which ensure that the dogs travelling to their new homes are healthy when they are arrive.
The Dogs Trust join us to chat about the welfare of dogs coming into the UK from overseas.
Michelle talks to Richard & Alicia from Justice For Reggie about their campaign to improve the selling of dogs online after losing their 12 week old puppy just days after arriving to parvovirus.
And last but most definitely not least Dale & Michelle talk to Dr Aurelian Stefan from Romania Animal Rescue. Aurelian tells us what life is really like for stray dogs in Romania & amazes us with the most impressive spay & neuter campaign ever.
